About Us

Flying Geese Fabric is a cozy, welcoming shop, where you’ll find new surprises in every little corner. As you walk in the store, you’ll see seasonal displays as well as sample quilts, pillows, and purses. Our Kids’ area makes it easy to shop for your next project for the grandkids. Visit our Big Red Bookcase for a nice selection of quilting books. Our custom made Wool Cupboard holds our stash filled with gorgeous hand-dyed wools, patterns, and kits.

Our quilt shop offers 100% cotton fabrics from your favorite manufacturers. We are often told that we have the prettiest fabric around. Fat quarters are cut from every bolt of fabric that comes in. In addition to the usual jelly rolls and charm packs, we make “Homemade Jelly Rolls” in Kaffee Fassett, Batiks, 30’s and Asian fabrics.

Flying Geese has created an exclusive line of patterns from quilts to Christmas stockings and tree skirts, to pin cushions, pillows, tea cozy’s and wall hangings. These are only sold in our shop and on our web site. Our popular “free-with-fabric-purchase” patterns such as “Any Which Way” and “Stepping Stones” are ideal for showcasing modern and big-pattern fabrics that are sometimes too pretty to cut into!

Throughout the year our spacious classroom provides the setting for many classes for all tastes and skill levels. Some of our classes are ongoing, such as the Saturday Sampler, Scrap Club, Kid’s Sewing and Girl’s Day Out.  Other popular classes have included: machine quilting, locker rug hooking, paper piecing, beginning quilting, “Practically Perfect Patchwork,” and both needle turn and machine appliqué.

Our talented staff always has time to assist our customers in design and fabric selection. They not only give advice, but encourage our customers to come by with their finished project. All eight of our employees are seasoned quilters and are available even if someone only wants to ask questions.

Located in Old Town Tustin, California, the Flying Geese Fabric shop is surrounded by historic buildings dating back to the 1880s. Many of these old buildings have been turned into quaint, one-of-a-kind shops. A walking tour of the tree lined street reveals antique shops, gift stores, a naturalist store, fine restaurants, flower shops and boutiques galore. Every Wednesday morning, a certified Farmers Market sets up across the street from the Flying Geese Fabric shop.

If you are in the neighborhood, we’d love for you to stop by for a visit. And, if you can’t come to the store, please join our community of quilters by visiting our blog often. We have lots of ideas to share with you and hope you come back often to see what’s happening in our quilting world.

Happy Quilting,

Susan & Marilyn
